The launch of the Cape to Bluff at ECC’s Auckland showroom was a fantastic night, attended by 170 guests. Thanks to everyone who supported the book!
The storytelling power of editorial features and photo-books reflects the narrative nature of photography, which to me, is its true power. Cleverly allowing the viewer a sense of discovery, editorial features and photo-books tell a story, but also act as the perfect vehicle for creating and conveying new ideals.
Last night, the Auckland Art Gallery launched the exhibition: Unconventional Architecture, a celebration of award-winning photographer and publisher Simon Devitt’s latest book, Ripe Fruit Vol. 2. The book showcases maverick architect, writer and environmentalist Tony Watkins’ home in Karaka Bay, Auckland in a photographic essay.
The Ripe Fruit Vol. 2 launch at Auckland Art Gallery on 21 November 2018, brings the book to life by recreating the intimate, personal setting of Tony’s Karaka Bay house.
