Len Lye Centre

One of several local tributes to the visionary talents of late avant garde artist Len Lye (not the least of which is the show stopping new Len Lye Centre, the first museum in New Zealand to be devoted to a single artist – see page 84), the unmissable Wind Wand is, for the uninitiated, a 45m kinetic sculpture that more or less marks the centre of town on the city’s Coastal Walkway.
