Thames & Hudson Releases New Edition of Cape to Bluff
Thames and Hudson has announced the publication of a new edition of the highly acclaimed architectural photography book Cape to Bluff.
This second edition, released in April 2024, comes in response to the overwhelming success of the first edition, which rapidly sold out following its initial launch.
The new version of Cape to Bluff features a revised format, measuring 22.8 x 30.3 cm, offering readers a fresh perspective on the stunning imagery within. A new cover design further distinguishes this edition from its predecessor, while maintaining the book’s focus on showcasing exceptional New Zealand architecture.
Originally launched to great fanfare at ECC’s Auckland showroom in April 2023, Cape to Bluff is a creative collaboration between photographer Simon Devitt, writer Andrea Stevens, and designer Luke Scott. The book highlights 30 remarkable residential properties across New Zealand, ranging from compact beach houses to expansive multi-generational homes.
This hardback volume, comprising 368 pages, continues to celebrate the unique relationship between New Zealand’s dramatic landscapes and its contemporary architecture. The featured projects demonstrate a sensitive approach to the natural environment, blending modern design with traditional influences from barns, whare, and baches.
With its larger format and updated design, the second edition of Cape to Bluff promises to offer both new and returning readers an enhanced experience of New Zealand’s architectural gems set against the country’s breathtaking scenery.
