Frequently Asked Questions
A few practical questions that often come up when planning a shoot. If you have something specific in mind, feel free to get in touch.
Booking timelines
How far in advance should we book?
Projects are typically scheduled several weeks in advance. For time-sensitive shoots, it’s always worth getting in touch — I’ll do my best to accommodate where possible.
Shoot preparation
What do we need to have ready before a shoot?
Projects should be fully complete and resolved, both inside and out. This includes final detailing, landscaping, and styling where appropriate. A well-prepared site makes a significant difference to the outcome.
Do you direct the shoot?
Yes. I work closely with you on site to refine composition, timing and detail, ensuring the work is captured at its best.
Deliverables
What do we receive after the shoot?
A curated set of high-resolution images, suitable for print and digital use.
How many images are included?
This varies depending on the scope of the project. A typical residential shoot results in a focused selection that captures the project comprehensively.
Image usage
How can the images be used?
Images are licensed for agreed uses across editorial, marketing and awards submissions. Broader usage can be discussed as required.
Can images be shared with media or collaborators?
Yes — images are often shared with architects, designers and media. Usage is managed to ensure appropriate credit and consistency.
Travel
Do you travel for projects?
Yes — I regularly travel throughout New Zealand and internationally. Travel requirements are discussed as part of project planning.
General
What makes a successful shoot?
Time, preparation and collaboration. Allowing space to properly observe and respond to the project — particularly through changing light — is key to producing strong work.
What types of projects do you typically photograph?
Primarily architectural and interior projects across residential, commercial and cultural sectors.
